We have now traveled the entire length of Interstate 40. From the eastern end in North Carolina to the western end in California. And then back.

From east to west, I-40 passes through North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The eastern end of I-40 is in Wilmington, North Carolina with its western end in Barstow, California.
The longest stretch of I-40 is in Tennessee, and the shortest is in California.
