In preparation of our 2024 road trip plans, we scheduled a visit with the Airstream Service Center in Jackson Center, Ohio for a checkup. The Airstream was in excellent condition but we wanted it checked out before our planned year of travel.
Our excellent tech at the Service Center rotated the tires, checked the brakes and wheel bearings, repaired a piece of the belt line trim that was loose and replaced one of the roof skylights.
They also replaced our factory 50-amp plug with a new 50-amp SmartPlug and 30 ft. power cord. The SmartPlug power cord is more flexible and weighs less than the bulky older power cords. The cord and quick connect SmartPlug is a fantastic upgrade.
While we were waiting, we decided to drive over to the new Airstream Factory to check out the facilities and see what we might need at the new Airstream gift shop.
The new Airstream Factory is impressive. Looking out over the factory floor from the observation deck gives one a good sense of the sheer size of a modern manufacturing. It's a sea of shiny new Airstream's and definitely worth the drive if you're traveling on Interstate 75 in Ohio.
